Investigate?

The need for investigative action may arise from all sorts of circumstances, including

• a grievance or third party complaint eg relating to harassment, discrimination or bullying
• a suspicion of misconduct
• unexplained irregularities
• suspected breaches of regulatory rules or governance procedures
• the perceived need to suspend an employee
• the prolonged absence of an employee
• unjustified favouritism
• unauthorised leaks to the media
• an unfavourable change in the pattern of staff turnover
• an extreme blame culture leading to impaired productivity
• interpersonal difficulties, often following a merger or reorganisation.
